Miss Shohreh Beski

I’m Shohreh Beski, a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, and I lead the Gynae-Psych Clinic at Eton. After more than 30 years in practice — including a long NHS career at Barts Health and ongoing private practice across London’s leading hospitals — one thing has become unmistakable to me: a woman’s hormonal health and her mental health are not separate stories. They are the same story. My specialist focus sits at the intersection of women’s wellbeing, hormonal health and neurodiversity, with particular expertise in premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), perimenopause and menopause-related mood change, postnatal mental health, and the gynaecological care of autistic women and women with ADHD. Trained across England, Italy and Iran and a former Consultant at Barts Health NHS Trust, I combine evidence-based gynaecology and obstetric surgery with medical acupuncture and integrative therapies. At Eton I lead a multidisciplinary team of consultant psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, a neurodiversity GP specialist and consultant cardiologists, delivering joined-up, woman-centred care across the full reproductive lifespan.

So much of what I see in clinic — premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), mood crashes around perimenopause, postnatal anxiety, sleep collapse, libido loss, the way endometriosis or PCOS shape a woman’s sense of herself sits in a space that gynaecology alone cannot solve, and psychiatry alone cannot solve. It needs both.
